CT/GC Self-sampling
Systematic Review

Team member: Fio

Project Summary

Self-sampling and self-testing are important innovations in the field of STBBI testing. Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae are two important pathogens responsible for a large proportion of STI incidence worldwide. In some populations, these infections are undetected and so many patients are not linked to the care they need. The Pant Pai lab is currently involved in a systematic review on CT/GC self-sampling with and without digital innovations which was commissioned by FIND Geneva, a non-governmental organization whose mission is to improve equity in diagnostic access globally. The results from this review will help bridge the gap in knowledge in how these self-sampling strategies can be implemented to achieve elimination of these two diseases and help inform policy-makers.
