Multiplex Survey

Team members: Angela and Fio

Project Summary

Multiplex rapid testing may be used to improve the turnaround time (TAT) to obtain rapid results for numerous STIs simultaneously, especially in the case of co-infections. However, in order to fully optimize the incorporation of rapid multiplex testing in clinical care, several considerations must be recognized and addressed, all while relying on Public Health Canada’s recommendations on integrated STBBI testing. As such, we are surveying a wide range of stakeholders across Canada on multiplex rapid STBBI testing. Following the assessment of various decision makers’ opinions nationwide, we aim to improve access to STI testing for all Canadians and reduce STI-related burden. We are further involved in projects to determine the feasibility of implementing these technologies across provinces.
